Dinner at Circo Liverpool

Expect the unexpected at Circo Liverpool, the bar and restaurant looks intriguing and wonderful the moment you step inside... with giant polar bears, horses with lamps on their heads, clowns and glowing sideshow signs you'd be forgiven for thinking you'd walked into a 1900's touring curiosity tent!!

The decor is amazing and a night out in the bar/club is not to be missed with their regular events and freak shows (performances with chainsaws and plenty of flames of all things)it makes for one unique night on the tiles.

My friend and I visited for a much tamer midweek meal and it was very tasty indeed and thankfully didn't involve any jars of shrunken heads, electric shock machines or bearded ladies.

Baked Portobello Mushroom
Stuffed with blue Stilton, wilted spinach and topped with herb breadcrumbs

Duck Spring Roll
Fragrant shredded duck bound in hoi sin and sweet chili, deep fried and served with a spiced plum dipping sauce

Sticky Lemon Chicken
Marinated in honey, lemon and sweet chili with baby potatoes and wild rocket



10oz Rib eye Steak
With a cracked black pepper sauce, homemade chips, grilled tomato and sauteed mushrooms

Baked apple crumble and custard
Slow cooked Bramley apples with a sweet oat topping
