I remember a few years ago now when my younger sister gushed to me about the Twilight saga books by Stephanie Meyer (now super-massive movies) and how since that moment everywhere I turned there it was. Those books and the subsequent films caused no end of discussions and created a huge following of die-hard fanatics.
One Twilight fan was so inspired by the books that she decided to create her own piece of fan fiction based on the novels and after receiving such a positive response she re-wrote it as an original piece of fiction with no Twilight references or names...but like Twilight it's all I've heard about these past few weeks.
I started reading Fifty Shades of Grey by EL James and I could not put it down... its not being hailed as a literary masterpiece by any means but the fact that it was top of the New York Times bestseller list speaks for itself.
With Twilight it seems like you're either on Team Jacob or Team Edward and similarly Fifty Shades readers are completely torn between love and hate for this book. Some readers can't quite get past the less than perfect prose while others are completely swept up in the erotic romance between Anastasia and Christian.
